Progress report:
“Different” Leia:
(the other “silly” one for wonderfest, i’m excited about it, LOL)
It’s almost done. I still need to cut the slits up the sides and hem it, and put the sleeves in and hem those, and add the hood. That’s it! I have a little weird place on the neck i want to fix, and a place where the seam got a little poochy to go back and look at (is “poochy” a technical term? LMAO).
Red Phoenix:
I haven’t done a thing on her, because it won’t take long at all. Basically it’s just moving my old phoenix symbol and boot covers to the new red bodysuit. And trying to find my gloves and sash again… heh. the costume closet may LOOK clean right now, but everything is just thrown in boxes with no organizational effort whatsoever…
Padme Mustafar:
I’m still going to try to finish her in time for Wonderfest, but if I don’t get it done it’s not a big deal. I think as fast as “Different” Leia is going I may have time to finish her. The tunic is basically done, just need to take in the sides a bit and hem it. Gotta get some leather from tandy to do the straps, but that shouldn’t take long, especially if dad or chase helps me. I almost finished the embroidery on the sleeves last weekend – i’ll finish it this weekend. Dye the pants, and make the jewelry – the brooches will be the hardest part, I suppose.
New ANH Leia:
Like I said in a previous post, I found the perfect fabric. I want to do it withOUT the shoulder seams this time – I’ve got enough scrap fabric to make a muslin, so hopefully I can do it RIGHT this time…
I’m not 100% sure what my schedule for Wonderfest will be. I’m bringing “Different” Leia and Red Phoenix for sure, Padme Mustafar if she gets done in time, my Arwen Blood Red dress… and I have no idea what else. Probably not my TK since it takes up so much space and we’re taking one car. Not going to do Slave Leia this time, either, I felt pudgy in it last weekend, need to do some summer swimming before I wear it again 🙂 Maybe Mara Jade. We’re driving up to Louisville friday night and hopefully in time to go see X3 that night… sat and sun morning do the con, head back to nashville sun afternoon. That monday is memorial day (yay!) so i’m gonna stay in nashville that day.
Thursday night I’ll drive baaack to nashville again, for our flight friday morning to COSI! woo!
